By the year 2014, payment of Chinas total healthcare expenditure is expected to be 30% from the government, 40% from the corporate sector, and 30% from individuals, according to experts at the World Health Expense Accounting Forum held in Beijing July 9, reported Chinanews.com.cn. In 2007, government, corporation, and individual healthcare expenditures were 20%, 35%, and 45% of the total, respectively. The percentage of individual health expenditure will continue to decrease in the future while government and corporate expenditures will increase, according to the report. Experts estimate that by 2014, the government, corporations, and individuals will spend RMB 682.6 billion, RMB 867.9 billion, and RMB 670.9 billion on healthcare, respectively. |
