The Ministry of Health (MOH) issued the `Notice on Issues Concerning Physicians to Practice at Different Medical Institutions\' September 11 to implement the requirements stipulated in the medical reform, according to www.gov.cn.
The document suggests that the policy should be piloted in selected provinces before promoting it nationwide. Provinces that wish to pilot this policy should apply to MOH for approval. According to the policy, physicians will be allowed to practice at a maximum of three medical institutions within the province. Physicians should seek approval from local health bureaus that regulate the original hospital, and add the new medical institutions onto their Physician Practicing Certificates. Health bureaus should keep track of hospital job vacancies and relay this information to all institutions under their supervision in a timely manner in order to facilitate the flow of physicians among hospitals. Health bureaus should also encourage physicians to practice at grassroots medical institutions. |
